Over time, this work grew into a reflection on the different stages that shape a life.

The successive fields of colour sit alongside one another, yet at the same time seem connected. Each has its own place, while the composition as a whole retains a sense of calm, balance and harmony.

Yellow, ultramarine, white and blue-grey come together in a bright yet quiet palette, with the contrasts remaining subtly balanced.

There is a simplicity to this form that feels very natural to me, as if its balance had almost emerged by itself.
